There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. Everything you enter stays in the app's private storage on your own device. Nothing you record is transmitted anywhere.
01 Organization Information
Rowkeep is published by an organization (company) Google Play developer account.
02 Data Collection
We collect no personal data whatsoever. Rowkeep does not gather, transmit, sell or share any information about you or your device. Specifically, the app does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or any contact details
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs or IP addresses
- Location data of any kind
- Usage analytics, telemetry, crash reports or behavioural data
- Photos, files, contacts, calendar entries or microphone input
03 Data Usage
The information you enter — projects, row counts, craft sessions, notes and pattern modifications, yarn stash entries, needle and hook inventory, tags, goals and preferences — is created by you and used only to display the app's own features on your device.
All processing, including the charts, statistics, streaks and achievements, is computed locally on the device. No calculation, aggregation or profiling happens off the device.
04 Data Sharing
We share nothing, because we hold nothing. There are no third parties with access to your data, no data brokers, no advertising networks and no cloud storage of your content.
If you choose to use the export feature, the resulting JSON or CSV file is written to your device and handed to the Android share sheet only when you actively ask for it. You choose the destination; the file never passes through us.
05 Data Security
Your data is stored in the app's private storage area, which the Android operating system isolates from other applications.
- Hive stores projects, sessions, yarn and tool records locally.
- Project notes and pattern modifications are held in an AES-256 encrypted database, since they may contain personal detail.
- flutter_secure_storage holds settings and the encryption key using the Android Keystore system.
06 Data Retention
Your data remains on your device for exactly as long as you want it. It is removed when you delete individual entries, when you use Settings → Clear all data, or when you uninstall the app. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.
07 No User Accounts
Rowkeep has no registration, no login, no password and no profile. You cannot create an account because there is no account system and no server to hold one.
08 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Rowkeep does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data is collected from any user regardless of age, the app is inherently compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. Rowkeep is a general-audience craft utility and is not directed at children.
09 User Rights
You retain complete control of your information at all times:
- Access & portability — export everything to JSON or CSV from Settings.
- Rectification — edit or delete any entry directly in the app.
- Erasure — use Settings → Clear all data, or uninstall the app.
No request to us is needed to exercise any of these rights, because the data has never left your device.
10 No Third-Party Services
Rowkeep integrates no third-party SDKs. There is no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no advertising network, no crash-reporting service, no attribution service and no social login.
11 Permissions
Rowkeep requests exactly one Android permission:
Rowkeep requests no camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or notification permissions.
12 Google Play Data Safety
Our Play Console Data Safety declaration states: no data collected and no data shared. This is accurate and complete. The app has no mechanism to transmit user content, and no network calls are made other than loading this policy page when you open it.
13 Policy Dates
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised date. Because the app collects nothing, any future change would only ever clarify wording rather than expand data use.

Rowkeep is operated by an organization developer account and is designed to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and Google Play's Developer Programme Policies including the User Data policy.
Compliance is achieved structurally rather than procedurally: there is no personal data processing, no controller-to-processor transfer, no profiling, no automated decision-making and no sale or sharing of personal information. Under GDPR terms, no personal data is processed by the developer at all.
